I heard a track from this 12" single on John Peel's show in 1987 or '88, and hunted it down. I was amazed to see the address on the label, Harcourt Road, Sheffield — because I was living literally round the corner from there at the time.
I feel more indulgent of In the Nursery on this listen, compared with last time. I can imagine how this music would have grabbed my attention coming out the radio back then, and I'm impressed that they created such a rich sound on what I can only assume was little money and much less sophisticated recording technology than we have today.
