At the time of writing, this is the only commercially available recording by Amor de Días, though their album is available in a few weeks. Their contribution to this compilation EP is a very beautiful recording of a pretty song. You can hear it here.
I've made it along to the Hangover Lounge twice, I think, though there seem to be several Sunday afternoon acoustic clubs in the upstairs rooms of Islington pubs, so I may be getting them confused. Anyway both times were to see Alasdair Maclean: once with the Clientele, and once with Amor de Días, a project he's been kicking around for three or four years now with Lupe Núñez-Fernández. It seems to have supplanted The Clientele, at least for now. Unusually most Clientele fans, myself included, seem to have taken this news with a shrug, on the basis that most were expecting a split, so a hiatus is not so bad…
The other songs are similarly pretty, if insubstantially so. Hangover Lounge is a great idea but it came too late for me: I haven't been properly drunk since I can't remember when, and it's literally years since I last crawled out of bed late on a Sunday with head aching and ears desperate for gentle acoustic pop.
The record is a good solid piece of vinyl, the same size and weight as an old 78. My copy is #59 of 500 — I don't think there are any left, but you can get the second one.
