This was the first album under Bill Frisell's name that I bought, around the time it came out in 1996, so I guess that was probably on the strength of a review. I was a little non-plussed at the time, just as I had been by Frisell's work in Power Tools. As with that experience, I'm enjoying it more with age (both mine and the music's). Now it sits in my mental schema between his earliest work, which still leaves me a little "huh?", and his more recent stuff which I find easy to love.
