BJ Cole is to pedal steel guitar in the UK what Ken Morse (believed to be the most credited cameraman in history) is to rostrum camera. Everyone who's collaborated with a steel guitar player in this country has collaborated with BJ Cole. This is only a slight distortion of the truth, and this is an incomplete list of his credits. For example, he plays on this album by my friend Steve. I saw him with John Cale once, in Cambridge, around 2002. If only John Cage had still been around, they could have been Cole, Cale & Cage.
I bought Stop the Panic when I was part of the Cooking Vinyl membership scheme. I suspect it may have been one of the reasons I let my membership lapse.
