I bought this CD to boost the Tom Phillips cover section of my collection. The design of this cover draws loosely on TP's series of wire word sculptures.
As mentioned previously, Tarik O'Regan is a fairly regular TP collaborator, though their operatic adaptation of Heart of Darkness won't be premiered until next year.
In fact, it was researching their collaborations for that post that led me to discover this album. I don't feel I have the credentials to comment on the music. It's very attractive to the ear, but most choral music is, isn't it? Especially when it's in Latin and draws on Hildegard von Bingen.
I've also got one of Iris Murdoch's novels with a cover by TP. I wish I had more, but those editions are out of print now, and hard, or expensive, to find.
