Lucy and I travelled to 2006's Green Man Festival by train. We had no option, after I'd parked the Astra sideways in a ditch outside Swindon a few weeks before. Arriving at Abergavenny Station, I hustled quickly towards the shuttle bus that was waiting to take us to the festival site: there was no mistaking how many people on that train were going to the same place, and I didn't want to have to wait for the bus to come back again. While we waited to embark, a young woman came round and started distributing copies of this CD. Not practical campsite gear, not beer tokens, not special backstage access, but a free CD sampler — that'll come in handy over the next three days.
It's a decent listen. Adem and James Yorkston sound like they usually do; no bad thing. Juana Molina's song is a little treasure. Kieran Hebden's two pieces, one with the late Steve Reid, and one as Four Tet, are the lungs and breath of the CD. Hebden and Reid played a storming set on the Saturday night that year, spoilt only by the young people around us behaving as thought they'd taken something more potent than they were.
I suspect you could have just as much fun listening to Domino tag radio on Last.fm, but perhaps not everyone getting on the bus was minded to do that.
Unaware that we'd got one before we arrived, our friend Paul — bless him — got us all another copy from the merchandise tent. If you'd like one, you're in the UK, and you're first to say so in the comments below, I'll send you my spare.

I would love a copy of this David. It would find a warm home here with me even if I'm not in the UKofGB&NI.

Am visiting London in early December to see Cecilia Bartoli and am toying with the idea of spending Christmas there but I may change my mind. Thank you kindly.
