The first time I put this on I had the Boy on my knee and couldn't see the tracklist. I had to turn it off midway through the second track, it was so bad. Chin droppped to the proverbial floor when I saw it was by The Fireman a.k.a. Paul McCartney. I had to play it again to check it really was that bad. And it was. Which left me with a sneaking respect for the man: he's left bland behind.
The tracks by The Lost Brothers and Findlay Brown seemed OK in a wouldn't-turn-off-if-I-heard-this-on-Radio-2 kind of way, but the only real interest is the song by Darren Hayman. I gave Lucy a copy of his album, which I'd got him to sign and dedicate to her, last year. I wonder if she's listened to it yet? (Answer: "I'm sure I must have.")
