I'm pretty sure I'd never heard yesterday's CD until, well, yesterday or the day before. I can be sure in this case — another Wire covermount — because I had to cut through the cellophane seal.
It's not disinterest that stopped me listening in the ten and a half years, it's abundance and surplus, with a sprinkling of old-fashioned stupidity. In that time, I've bought, or received as gifts, albums by Movietone, The Third Eye Foundation and Maher Shalal Hash Baz. Why listen to those while ignoring the 'free' stuff?
This is another compilation that generally slips down very easily — the Royal Trux track being the exception that sticks out a little like a sore thumb. Lovely song by Smog/Bill Callahan, who hasn't clicked with me in the past, and interestingly mellow textures from Woodbine and Hood, neither of whom I'd heard of before.
