Being born when I was, I only came in on the Roxy Music story from the point where they ended their first hiatus with Manifesto in 1978. I didn't like that much at the time, but later enjoyed the two albums that followed it.
I remember mentioning this to you sometime in 1984, and you scoffing that those albums lacked both the quantity and quality of ideas on the earlier work. I'm pretty sure you had a copy of this Greatest Hits album, and that that's what led me to get a copy soon afterwards.
I think it set back my Roxy appreciation by a few years. Nothing wrong with the songs, particularly, but they just don't seem to work very well together in this sequence. And I think the record's been pressed or mastered, or whatever, poorly, because the sound is grubby.
