In these belt-tightening days, household discussions inevitably drift towards others' wanton extravagances. I happened to make a passing observation, with just a hint of wry, about the frequency of Lucy's hair appointments, and in so doing unleashed a tornado of recriminations about going to gigs and my "stupid collections". I'll get murdered if she reads this, but don't worry, the chances of me being hit by a magic bullet fired from a book depository while driving in a motorcade surrounded by Secret Service bodyguards and the future wife of a shipping magnate are higher.
This 12" EP, bought on eBay in 2004 for a princely £1.41 (plus [cough] £3.00 p&p), when I already had all the tracks on Sylvian's Alchemy cassette, is possibly further justification for receiving at least a round of GBH should it fall before the wrong eyes. The EP is still not worth much, according to this listing.
Still, it's held its value better than last week's hair treatment, no?
