There's no mistaking this when you put it on; it's Stereolab all right. Andy, my solitary reader (Hi, Andy! Andy?! You still there…? Heeelp!), has followed the 'lab from the beginning and argues that, while they remain enjoyable live, their recent albums are not a patch on the early ones. Having not caught up with the story until later in the day, all those I've heard just sound like Stereolab to me.
That said, the CD — a 28-minute EP — does have two distinctive 'sides': Side 1 is Easy Listening and Side 2 is New Wave. I prefer Side 2, in particular We're Not Adult Orientated (and they get extra marks for saying Orientated instead of Oriented, which people use to mean the same thing, though it actually means 'turned Japanese').
As with the 'lab's last appearance the titles have more humour than the music. But I checked and this is one of the early ones, so thumbs up. Especially for not going on too long.

Yep - still here! And this is from their very peak squeezed between their two finest albums, not as good as either but still a record that makes me think "oh...they were so good in the olden days"
