I never owned any Pulp albums until I left Sheffield: I bought this six months after moving to London. So nostalgia for that shitty city might have been one factor in my purchase, but another more likely one is still stuck to the jewel case: the £3.00 Fopp price label. I suspect it was an impulse buy at the counter (that same day I bought Agharta, Greendale and Space is the Place among others).
With tongue in cheek, we once christened a European-funded project "Disco 2000" — Digital Industries Supply Chain Online, you see. If the EC had the gall to call their funding programme "INFO 2000", we reckoned it was open season for naff clichés. Remarkably the project website still exists.
