Mad Professor: Dub Me Crazy!!

I got this a long time ago. "Second hand" says one sticker on the cover. "£7.99" says the other. Long time since you paid £7.99 for a second hand CD, unless it's rare and out of print — ah, I see Amazon now has a used copy for £25. At least not all my investments are going down the pan. (Rare bit of current affairs commentary there; and irredeemably bourgeois to boot.)

I was never a big fan. I just new of the Professor via the John Peel show, and might have been vaguely aware of his association with Lee Scratch Perry (Dub Power on this CD takes Give Me Power as one of its sources). He played with Scratch at the Meltdown event in 2003 that also featured Tortoise.

I like the playfulness and experimentation for experimentation's sake. But at times it gets a little daft and cheesy, like Sid James and Hattie Jacques doing Carry On Dubbing Me!!.
