With the Blood and Fire sampler and Macro Dub Infection last month, and Ripples of Dub plus this in the first week of July, it seems to be shaping up into a pretty dubby summer.
The sleeve notes claim King Tubby as the original founder of dub and a mentor of Lee Scratch Perry. I just came across him via John Peel's patronage, so I didn't know that.
It's good value, this CD, particularly since it was almost certainly a fiver or less at Fopp, but 76 minutes of continuous heavy dub is possibly too much of a good thing, unless you're outside and enjoying a smoke.
