You can't go wrong with Harold Budd and Brian Eno. They bring out the best in each other. Sure, there's a degree to which all their music sounds a but samey — the sparse, tinkly piano and lush soundscapes. And that's probably why I didn't rush to get this album to add their other collaboration.
But if you think that once you've heard one track, you've heard them all, well, that's not true. Listen again, and listen more closely. Listen more slowly this time.
You can never have too much.
Which is why I snapped up this CD when I saw it for £7 in Fopp in July 1999.

Even though some of what you hear on this album has been canibalised from the Plateaux of Mirror, I still like it a lot. The Silver Ball should have been an instant radio classic. Really.
