This is one of two albums by The Hafler Trio that Tim gave me. It's not his kind of music: he doesn't go for these experimental sound art collages! So I don't know why he gave me this. If I asked, he'd probably just wink and say it was very cheap.
It's only today that I bothered to look up The Hafler Trio on Wikipedia, to find that — how could we be so naïve? — there's no trio about them. It's basically one 44-year-old bloke from Newcastle (with links to members of early Cabaret Voltaire and Current 93).
For an album that was first released 22 years ago, I'm impressed. I'll add it to the ever-growing list of things to check out in greater detail when I have a serious accident and am off work long term with incapacity benefit, or get some financial windfall that enables me to retire early.
