Do you have this? I've been really patchy at keeping up with Sonic Youth albums since the heyday of the late '80s. I saw them at Brixton Academy in 2004 for the first time since 1989 and really regretted missing their tours for the intervening fifteen years because they still had something you don't get elsewhere.
I read a good review of Murray Street and it's kind of billed as Sonic Youth's post-9/11 album, so the signs were promising. I got it for my birthday last summer. But I'm afraid it turns out to be the kind of album that discourages me from filling in the other gaps in my Sonic Youth collection.
It seems to be more of the same, which is less than I expect from them.
