This is the sister CD to Piquet's Faulty Caress, and I got at the same time by the same means. The Kendall in Gilbert/Hampson/Kendall is Paul Kendall, a.k.a. Piquet, and the Hampson is Robert Hampson from Loop and Main. I had to google to check that the Gilbert is Bruce Gilbert from Wire, and, via this review from Wireviews, I found that he is (I hope you're following this: Wire and Wireviews are not related to The Wire, who sent me the CD).
I like the line in that review that begins, "Although there are no real tunes as such…". The CD leaflet says, tersely, "orr was recorded over three years ago over a three day period through guitar pick-ups — a degree of processing has occured [sic] in the interim".
All this is a preface to saying that I don't like it as much as Faulty Caress, which I dug out to remind myself of. The first track on this album is short but abrasive, and tips you off that you're not in for an easy ride. I didn't find as much variety in the sound palette as with its sister.
