When I dug out this CD just now I was surprised to find that I could hardly remember anything about it. Most of the track titles, except for Is it Love and Anyone Can Light a Candle, were unfamiliar to me.
Having now listened to it, I know why. It's a very slight, insubstantial album. It sounds like Vangelis dug out a few of his studio out-takes and invited Jon to improvise over the top of them, while Jon arrived with about three lyric-and-melody ideas (the two above plus the title track) that Vangelis quickly arranged and banged out in the few days they had in the studio together, sandwiched between other commitments.
Perhaps I'm wrong about that, but this was the pairing that, ten years previously, had produced what I count as a landmark record. I don't think I ever wasted much time on this one.
