This BBC LP is the soundtrack to a comedy and musical revue show from 1981 that was done in aid of Mencap and broadcast on TV. I don't know when and where I got this — it can't have been after 1984 or '85 — but I know it was solely because I wanted to hear Jon Anderson's solo rendition of I Hear You Now. I was not alone in doing this, as you can see from this fan description of the album. He says it's a terrific version, but I'm not that wild about it.
The best thing on the record is probably Alan Price's unaccompanied folk song. The Ian Dury and Elvis Costello song are OK, too, but the Neil Innes is surprisingly bland. Of the comedy tracks, only Rowan Atkinson stands a chance of making me smile, while Mayall and Edmondson make me cringe.
