I bought this in a record shop on the Champs Elysées in the summer of 1989. I was there on holiday, on my own (Caroline wanted to come too, but I wouldn't let her; I was very difficult then).
There was a mystique about this album because its release was initially held back. According to Wikipedia, the reasons for this were pretty prosaic commercial ones. I think I was expecting some radical departure from the standard Sprout sound. But it turns out to be very much just-another-Prefab-Sprout-album. Not one of my favourites, but then I don't like Steve McQueen, so clearly I'm out of step with most other people.
Dublin and Pearly Gates are my favourite songs on the album.
