I think this is my favourite of the albums I've got by the various bands in which LD Beghtol plays a major role. It's got a great range of songs, including several great tunes, executed with style. The lugubriously slow acoustic version of OMD's Souvenir is fun, because, although it is literally quite faithful to the original, it takes a while before you realise that, yes, it is an OMD song, not just something that sounds vaguely like one. As with a lot of LD's stuff, the ghost of early-to-mid-80s British independent pop (particularly the 4AD sound of all those bands that featured in This Mortal Coil) is never far away.
The official discography lists the cast of thousands involved in making this album, though I believe that the Moth Wranglers are, at heart, just LD Beghtol and Chris Xefos. (This page also has mp3s of extended clips from seven of the songs of the album.)
I got this in the same mail order package from MotherWest that included my other Moth Wranglers purchase, back in 2001, just after it came out.
