I got this as part of the same imported batch of records from Mother West that I mentioned before.
The version of Turnabout is different from the one on the album. It doesn't have the sonic interruptions, and the backing vocals sound sweeter and fuller. Altogether more suitable for a single. (I don't know why I mention this, since I'm sure you haven't heard the album version.) It's catchy as hell, a great pop song, well sung. In the hands of someone desperate to have a hit, it could have been a hit.
Of course, it wasn't. It even has the DJ-alienating device of having one side play at 33⅓ and the other at 45rpm. The B-side, in true B-side style, manages to be an unsettling drone, sounding like the missing link between CINdYTALK and Alice Coltrane (i.e. obscure).
