Another gift from Tim, more recent than the last one, I think — probably early this decade.
And, extending the metaphor I used two days ago, this isn't just a mud bath; there's a bit of lettuce in there too. It's still a very 'Tim' album, and I like my jazz with a bit more grit and sweat, but I like the fact that the rhythm section is at least organic here, especially the stand-up bass.
The images on the cover project a portentous air over the album, like it's some Koyaanisqatsi-style concept statement on the condition of the planet. I don't know about that, and Chris Bowden isn't a name I read about or hear in the course of my normal magazine and radio consumption. Google finds me this Ninjatune account, however, which makes him sound dead important.
