This is a long way from A.R.Kane's Love-Sick EP, which came up a few days ago. Where that EP was a beautifully designed 12" single package with unique songs not available elsewhere, this is a rather tawdry CD single that does nothing more than trail a few tracks from the "i" album. Those early EPs took a leaf out of the Cocteau Twins' book by using the 12" single as a format to put out interim releases that didn't carry the 'weight' of an album, but felt like experimental stabs at new ideas. The songs on this single are all right, but, if you have the album, which I do, there's no point in having this as well. I guess I got it before the album came out.
Well, having said all that, I just looked up the Discogs entry for the 12" single of this release, and it says the version of What's all this then is in fact "an unlabelled dub mix", not the same as the album release. But, from memory, it's not that different. My CD single also has Snow Joke on it.
