I'd forgotten about this. I knew I had a few A.R. Kane 12" singles, but I couldn't have named them. I play my 12" singles very rarely, so this is like discovering a gem in the corner of my collection; a real pleasure. (And iTunes Libraries don't have corners.)
What a beautiful cover! The detail is wonderful. The imagery is innuendo-level, much like the lyrics on 69 (the back cover is flower-as-vulva). But this time the metaphors in the songs leave no doubt about what they're on about: Sperm Travels Like Juggernaut. You wouldn't catch Whitesnake being as blatant as that, would you?
Side 1 is A.R. Kane's trademark 'dream pop', but for side 2 they've added a trumpeter and the references to Miles Davis/Teo Macero of Bitches Brew and In a Silent Way are as flagrant as the stamen on the cover. But that's fine; no harm in wearing your Miles on your sleeve. These tracks also splice the Miles influence with a reggae/ragga feel. Very nice all round.
Now, if I could just get hold of a copy of A.R. Kane's Lollita EP.
Try this url:

I'd like to get a copy myself, but digital. That's probably too much to ask.
Have you seen this?
