I must have had this album for 25 years, and it's quite likely that I've never played it. Let me explain. The copy that came up from my random selection is actually a Canadian import. The import version is exactly the same double album as the UK release — which I already had when I bought this — except that it has a triple gatefold sleeve instead of the standard double gatefold. Unfortunately the album is in storage, so I can't provide a photo of the sleeve in all its glory.
At school it seemed like I was a Rush fan for ages, but it was only two years — from November 1979, when I first heard Xanadu on the Friday Rock Show, to November 1981, when I saw them for the second and last time, and realised that I was more beguiled by the tape of Neil Young's After the Goldrush that Dave Minchin was playing in his mini when ferrying us to and from the Brighton Centre.
Apparently I was more of a nerdy collector then than I am now. God knows how much of my pocket-money went on this import, but possibly more than it seems to be worth now, according to this site. Google also found me the story behind Rush's album covers…
