Samuel Barber: Cello Concerto, Cello Sonata, Adagio for Strings

A gift from D. She gave me music much less often than Tim (yes, they've both since retired). The only other example I can think of is this Beethoven CD. I've lost track of how this came about. I flirted with the idea of getting her William Orbit's version of Barber's Adagio for Strings, and then was glad I didn't, because D told me unprompted that she hated that. Perhaps it was that conversation that prompted her to give me a proper version. As with yesterday's gift, I can only say, horribly ungratefully, that it doesn't do much for me. Could that be why I don't get gifts any more?
