I spent a day and a half visiting old friends back in Sheffield two years ago, and popped into Broomhill's Record Collector for what may have been the last time. I picked up a bagful of vinyl for mainly sentimental reasons, and then left the bag at C's house, so I didn't get it home until over a year later.
I got this copy of Moondance because it has a gatefold sleeve — do you have this version? The sleeve is in good nick. The record itself is slightly warped, but that doesn't matter. Inside the gatefold is a short story in faux-mediaeval prose by Janet Planet (then Mrs Van). It's like an Aesop's Fable, though the moral — if you try and cash in too much on the talent you've been given, you're replace love with anxiety and fear — is never spelt out explicitly. You don't want to hear that when you're selling tickets at £200 a pop.
