Cocteau Twins: Sunburst and Slowblind

SunburstandsnowblindOn days like this (notwithstanding a hangover — I know, I know, on a Monday night) I really enjoy digging out my old records and playing them. Maybe I should think about doing it every day…

I'm really enjoying this recent spate of Cocteaus (1, 2). Like Treasure, this is even better than I remember it.

They talk about the death of the album, don't 'they'? They forget the days when the EPs of The Smiths and the Cocteaus regularly featured tracks that weren't on albums. How can you get hold of these tracks now? Yep, on an album. The album is dead, long live the album.

I've now downloaded Heaven or Las Vegas to explore it for the first time. But I've only listened to it once so far.
