Fog: Fog

Fog: FogI came to stay with Jeremy in London one weekend early in 2002, and, looking for a way to a way to spend a Saturday afternoon, we headed off to a free event at Notting Hill Arts Club. We were guided by the write-up in Time Out, which drew a comparison between Fog and Neil Young. I can't remember what the comparison was, but it should have been "sounds nothing like Neil Young in any respect".

We thought the gig was just about OK — unremarkable, but OK. So I can't really explain why, a few weeks later, I saw this album in Fopp and bought it. It wasn't even very cheap. I got it home, listened to it once or twice, and pondered the inexplicability of my purchase. I don't hate it; it's not complete crap. However, if I bought every CD that I didn't hate and wasn't complete crap…
