Dummy Head Stereo: Unscathed

Dummy Head StereoI've come close with other mishaps before, but I think this is the first time I've completely failed to find a CD I thought I had.

I say I thought I had it, because it can't have found its way into my catalogue on its own, but I have no memory of listening to it. The date I got it suggests it was part of the freebie pack at the Modal conference, as with K-Passa. Here's what I found on the web — the link to the band's website no longer works.

[Update, a few months later]

Finally got the music room in order, unpacking all the CDs and arranging them on new shelves, and I found the CD!

It turns out to be really rather entertaining: a form of electro-rock with bags of attitude and character. Just three tracks, which the paper sleeve says are all just demos. One of the attractive things is that the songs are unpredictable. Perhaps that's what undid the band — they were able to go in all sorts of directions, and couldn't agree which one to focus on. Or perhaps it was just that the bass player ate all the Jaffa Cakes at rehearsal, thus provoking a fight with the drummer. Who knows?
