Various: Future Perfect
It's rare for me to buy music on the strength of the label its on, though I know people who follow dance music do that quite a lot. One exception in my case is All Saints Records, whose (pre-internet) mailing list I found my way onto in the '80s or '90s, because of the Brian Eno connection. I bought a few of the All Saints samplers, like this one, and they rarely turned out to be duffs.
This one is special because it has what it says are two 'early mixes' of tracks from Kate St John's first solo album. Did you see Van Morrison play at all in the early '90s? If you did, Kate St John was probably in the horn section band. She has many other connections in her careers, but I'll talk about those another time. As it turned out the tracks of Kate's on this compilation never made it onto her solo album, so they're exclusives.
This compilation also features three very disparate and distinctive Brian Eno pieces from Glitterbug, one of his collaborations with Derek Jarman.
