The Ramones: The Ramones

TheramonesHey ho, let's go! A good place to start, you could say. The fact is I never followed the Ramones when they were still together — though you couldn't be a teenager in the late '70s and '80s and not be aware of what they were about.

I bought this in 2000 for a fiver from Fopp. That's the way that Fopp has built itself up: selling 'catalogue' (i.e. old) albums at knock-down prices, so that the likes of me snap them up on impulse, thinking, "That'll round out my collection nicely, even if I only play it a handful of times — everyone should have some...(insert classic band/artist here)... on hand". Which is more or less exactly the role this album has for me.

Plus, if I wanted something energetic for a new iPod playlist, this would be a good place to rip from.

There's a remastered and expanded version available now, but mine just has the original tracks.
